The Kansas City Chiefs are set to trade CB L'Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans pending a physical. While the deal hasn't been made official yet, fans got the first public acknowledgment from a team source that the trade is actually happening.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid spoke with longtime Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky at the Annual League Meetings in Orlando, Florida on Monday. The two spoke about the Sneed trade, also touching on what Tennessee is getting both on and off the field.

"Yeah, one of my all-time favorite guys," Reid began. "A great human being. As great of a player as he is, he's an even better human being. He's as tough as you can imagine. I'm his biggest fan, absolutely."
As for the trade within the conference, Reid emphasized that this trade was strictly a business decision. The team has to work within the confines of the salary cap and with other contracts coming up, they had to be calculated with their decision.
"Yeah, I mean, you know you juggle the salary cap," Reid continued. "It's ridiculous what you have to go through and the players you can keep and you can't keep. We all loved [L'Jarius Sneed]. That wasn't the problem."
That doesn't mean Kansas City won't miss Sneed and what he brings to the table. He was one of the few cornerbacks that DC Steve Spagnuolo has ever trusted to shadow the No. 1 wide receiver for an opponent.
"He was our lockdown guy," Reid said. "The best receiver, he had the best receiver."
The Chiefs are hopeful that third-year CB Trent McDuffie can now transition into being that "lockdown guy" for the defense.
